The exhibit of my work at Moon Gallery, Berry College near Rome, Georgia, that I mentioned a couple of posts back is now up and the opening reception was last night. What a thrill to see the work installed and to have a full room of guests. Here are a few photos from the opening.

First, some photos from the reception... |

And finally, after everyone left I had time to take photos of the four walls of the gallery. |

I have a demo loom at one side near the installation of eight years of tapestry diaries. |
I really like the large and open space of the gallery. I appreciate being able to see the tapestries from across the room--this is the first time I've seen them from this distance and I find that the images do hold up strongly in a graphic way. And that's what I'm hoping for as I design them. There's lots to see in the color blending and some of the textural things within them when you walk up close, too.
The exhibit is up until mid-day on April 8. The gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday-Friday.
Next week I'll return to Berry to spend time with students, particularly those who are working in the weaving studio of the student industries, Viking Creations. My husband and I had a quick visit to see their studio yesterday afternoon. I'm very impressed with the woven items they're producing for sale. Check out their work on the Berry's website
