The stones again


Yes, it's hard to notice the progress on this tapestry.  It is for me, too.  But there's some.  Each day I weave a few passes, sometimes several inches.

Here's the loom with a few of the baskets that hold the many, many blends of color I'm using in the piece.  Sure, the color is neutral.  But so much choice to make in those neutral blends... am I going to use cool gray here, or warm gray.  Do I need dull orange there?  This dark area--that needs to be dark, dark blue combined with a very dark gray.  Sometimes it's harder for me to make subtle choices than the bright ones.

  1. I agree - subtlety is much harder to achieve than bolder contrasts. This is going to be subtle, and elegant!
