I want to see how the new photo of the waterlily looks online. I tried several ways to photograph it yesterday--outside in natural light, inside with incandescent light and my camera set for that, inside with flash, outside with flash, outside with sunlight (too late in the day and sun was way too low....).

Very nice, Tommye. And I like how you've framed it. What is the black outline around the tapestry? Is it just photo shadow, or matt? I like it.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteThanks! The outline around the tapestry is a dark, dark blue mounting fabric. It's stretched over a 1/4" foam core board and the tapestry stitched onto that. The mounting board is just slightly larger than the tapestry so the edge of it shows on all sides.
The mounting board is velcro-ed onto a piece of handwoven natural color cotton twill fabric that's also stretched onto foam core. That larger mounting board is then framed with a black wood frame.
I like to mount small pieces this way...gives them some "presence" and makes it easy for folks to hang them.
