Fiddleheads and more...

Here's a better photo of the tapestry and a detail of the time passing picks.

  1. Looking at it today I'm thinking I prefer it as a 3-part, and not separated. Strange!

    But either way, it's fabulous.

  2. Thanks for your thoughts! Looks much more coherent with warp ends hidden.

  3. I was inclined to want this separated as two pieces at first, but I think I now like it best as one piece. There is repetition of the leaf shapes in the colored area, and the red lines in the upper portion lead the eye back and forth. While each area would read as a whole separated, neither would be as interesting as the piece is as one tapestry.

  4. Thanks for your comments, Kathy. It was quite shocking to see it at first. The longer I see it as it is, the more I like it.

I very much appreciate your vote of confidence for the piece to stay as it is! I can always separate the parts in the future if I want to. But once I make the cut, it can't be put back together (easily, at least)!

There's something to be said for going with what's not expected, I think. Pushing beyond the "safe" solution.

  5. I also vote for leaving it together. I like it. Shocking is good after all!
