off to the ball

I really feel like Cinderella sometimes... I don't dress up often but there are some occasions that need it.  Last night was one of those times with the Challenged Child and Friends Festival of Trees gala.  So here we are, ready to go.  And, by the way, a friend bought the small tapestry for close to $300!  I'm happy it sold and was an addition to the money raised during the evening from both the silent and live auction of art works and other things.

Oh... the dress I'm wearing is a vintage gown.  I'm not one to go out shopping for any formal wear, much less something like this!  My comfort level in clothes is blue jeans.

You look beautiful! What a lovely couple.
Congratulations on the great sale for the auction.
It was a beautiful piece and I know will take pride of place in it's new home.
Hope you got to dance a little in something more comfortable than glass slippers though.

Oh, I love the dress! I would feel like Cinderella, too.
Congratulations on the successful donation of the tapestry. Well worth it, and I'm sure the new owner feels that way, too.

How beautiful you are in that dress. I've not dressed up like that in so long, I don't think I'd know how to act. I'm not surprised at the price for your tapestry,. Your work is outstanding.

I understand being more comfortable in jeans - but isn't it wonder to be able to have options - especially with something so unique and beautiful!

What a great idea to wear a vintage gown, it's so elegant, and you look so beautiful in it! I'll have to try that next time, I have such a hard time finding dressy clothes I like and always end up wearing something disappointing.
